alex s
Hi, I am looking make a snorkel for my Jeep, and I would like to use that top bit that is on the top of the Mantec Defender snorkel. Does anyone know what is it is specifically called, or where I can get one? Thanks!
Orgasmic Farmer
Try Mantec. You could also ask southdown as they do something similar. Don't be surprised if the top alone costs very near as much as a complete snorkel. When I made mine on the Disco I struggled to find anything I liked and ended up making a top from scratch out of thin steel plate. A bit of a potch but nicer IMHO than the Fray-bentos tins which only really work on defender type trucks.

m0bcg
i used the air intake elbow from a ford transit air filter , although im not sure which year . a look round the scrapyard will soon find something . . they twist and pull out from the filter box and you can cut them wherever you want along the bend . looks a bit trumpet ended . mine is fitted so it points down slightly so not to allow water in .
