JST Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 this was asked a while ago and there are pros and cons for each i go for the top hose as that is the temp of the water leaving the engine if its too hot the fan will cool it rather than it being too hot then going into the engine. i see both sides of the arguments for top or bottom in the end top is easier to reach and you dont loose all the coolant doing it! LandyManLuke Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Bottom. You only want the fan to come on if the radiator's not doing it's job adequately. There's no point turning the fan on if the radiator could have cooled the water just fine all by itself. That said, it'll still work in the top hose.
