Les Henson
I was talking to a guy from FBB near Tidworth yesterday and he was saying that ARC will be banning Simex tyres and any other tyre that has a greater Diameter than 34" next year. Does anyone know if this is true? Les.

V8CAMEL
Brian Hartley of COR has brought in a 35" tyre limit for his competitions next year. arc only allow a 32" tyre for anything other than a 101 at the moment. It does not ban simexs ( i have 32" simexs)
Bull Bar Cowboy
Brian Hartley of COR has brought in a 35" tyre limit for his competitions next year. 35” in the specials and 32” (but no more aggressive than muds) in the standards IMHO a good move ……..here Ian

Mo Murphy
A couple of club challenges that I did last year have said no dumper tyres, no simex in their regs. Mo
LR90
35” in the specials and 32” (but no more aggressive than muds) in the standards IMHO a good move ……..here Ian It has a lot of merit and he puts it over well. I can't keep up with the costs in the modified class but will keep playing there cos I wouldn't want to give up my 35" Simex I do think there should be an additional class though, Extreme perhaps, as there is some good stuff going on with portals and the like and it would be a great loss to stiffle this more radical development. najw
No tyre size rules in AWDC challenge events, portal axles are welcome, plus there is a Specials class which allows vehicles which don't fit into Standard or Modified classes to take part as well. Expect to see an independent suspension buggy with Unimog portal hubs and 40" boggers next year! All are welcome

Don't forget ARC live in the dark ages and have always banned any tyres above 33" and traction aids, and all the other stuff that everyone in the real world uses. They are a group that are killing themselves with their stupid rules. Membership is going downhill fast very fast. Ok my rant over ( well i have not really started yet )
jules
I looked at competing in last years ARC national but had to jump through so many hopes it was not worth entering the two freelanders. The Simex do make it very hard if somone that can't afford £175 per coner tyres to compete or afford the axle uprate needed same as The whole idea of the ARC is a level playing field which ruling out 35" tyres will do. not that I agree with some of there rules which is why I don't compete with the ARC. My issues are more club related anti none members attitudes.
