Creaky/squeeky clutch

My TD5 manual has a creaky/squeeky clutch when the pedal is pressed (creak as pedal moves down...not a bearing squeel) . However this occurs when it is all good and warm. When the car is cold it is as quiet and gradually gets worse.

I wondered if it could be the slave cylinder getting tight when it is warm? I have known the seals to start seizing.

Is this noise a known problem? any ideas welcomed.
