Ben Jordan
I have a Qt front diff guard. My misses is getting me a Sumo track rod and drag link. The Qt diff guard will not fit with the steering damper in its current position and whilst I am replacing all of the steering arms, I want to move the steering damper. I know that some of you have replied on the Sumo bars thread but now I need more info on the moving of the steering damper. Have any of you moved that damper on your Disco/RRC? Are there any good kits? and which are the ones to avoid? Is it possible to do this conversion with Defender parts?
Mark90
Can't see why not, if you used the defender swan neck bit that fits in the drag link and over the drop arm ball joint then all you'd need to sort is the bracket on the chassis for the other end of the damper. This of course assumes you aren't running a TRE in place of the drop arm ball joint.
Ben Jordan
Im looking at this kit http://www.washbrook.net/steeringdamperrelocationkit.htm as it looks to be very strong and i like the idea of the steering damper with eyes instead of pins. andyb
I did what Mark90 suggests. For the chassis end I cut the side off a piece of box section, drilled a hole and welded it on. HTH
