I know some guys who did something simerlar in Malasyia driving well-ish speced 110 (had LSDs or lockers in the rear axle, Simex or simerlar and a decent winch on the front). From what I've heard they had a superb time; I was very envious.

These are trips organised by Martin and liz lewis, very experienced in the jungle, you will love it out there.

My pal Wayne Mitchelson recently went on one of their trips and took the pictures for the feature on Jungletrekker Hols in 4x4 Mag. He'll admit he went out to Thailand with a air of cynicism about the whole thing, (this is a guy who's been on Camel Trophy and a couple of RFC's), but came back raving about the experience. Loads of tough jungle trails, plenty of winching, knee deep mud, river crossings, sleeping in tree houses within the jungle canopy (with a toilet??). Cars are Toyota Hi-Lux's dbl-cabs with snorkels, winches, lift and Simex. They don't have lockers fitted , but this was something the company were thinking about fitting because of the amount of time the trucks get hung up in ruts on the Toyota's centrally placed diff housing. You'll have a blast!
