Ivan
Defender 90 300Tdi 1996. When driving along and you turn the wheel you get a rhythmic thumping sound. Sounds like a tyre thumping. It's all OK when the wheels are straight. It has happened on 3 different sets of wheels and tyres. Checked so far : No play in the wheel bearings - Tested by trying to rock between 6 and 12 No play in swivel hubs - checked by trying to rock between 3 and 9 Next to check is all bushes. An aquitance suggested it may be the cv joints. Anyone agree? TIA Ivan
Les Henson
Worn cv joints usually click on full lock if they are worn. Tyre isn't catching on the radius arm is it? Les.
