Tame friendly scrappies ?

Recommended Posts

Hello Peeps.

I went to the tame local scrappy I use today, shut for some weeks for some reason or other

So, looking for a scrappy (or 5) that :

1. DO NOT think they can charge more than new....... cos the stuff has been tested for 100,000 miles

2. Will let you wander in / out and around.............

3. Probably expect me to remove as opposed to "yeah mate..... we removed it wiv a gas axe.... so yer have to pay Jimmies labour right ?"

4. Local to me (ish) :

...............................................so thats Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey, areas....

Who where and contact numbers please......................................... :)

You probably already know them Nige, but Silverlake near waltham chase and harris's in east nutbourne?

Both let you wander around and let you remove stuff, price has seemed OK for the bits I have bought from them.

I think it's jacksons on Hayling island are a PITA, don't want to let you wander and were obnoxious and rude. Stupid thing to do to a man who is carrying a mallet........

don't know anymore in the area and will be interested to know of any more that let you wander.

There is a chap who breaks LR's at shoreham cement works named Nick 01273 441 838 who is quite friendly and has little idea what anything is worth! Offer him something that sounds about right based on the size & weight & he'll go for it!

Enjoy you local Scrappies, while you can !!!!!

With all the new "end of life" rules now being enforced, the good old fashion scrap yard's days are numbered

Very soon it just will not be economical to carry on, the way it has for the last many years, I am just in the process of closing down the used parts side of the business, due to all the carp ,paperwork, rules and regulations that being forced onto us by the so call "powers" that be

And to let "customers" wander round, with all the health & safety, its just not worth the aggro

The problem is you or I are fine walking round a scrap yard the problem is the General public are very very stupid and Thick which is why H&S have stopped it and the sue culture we live in thanks USA.

The Public will do the most dangerous of things and not see any danger, but when a car falls on them and nearly kills them due to them doing somthing monumantaly stupid they can sue the yard owner and there is nothing he can do about it .....
