Trailer Socket Wiring

Recommended Posts

Have done a search on this but couldnt find anything.

The wiring for my trailer socket is completley wrong, as i discovered when i plugged it into a known trailer board.

I am trying to establish whether the wires are standard from landrover or if the previous owner has conducted some poor DIY work.

The wires i have going to the socket are:

Black

Red/Yellow

Green/Red

Green/Purple

Red/Orange

Green/White

Red/Black

Can anyone help?

Standard 12N fitting, viewed from the rear as you look at the terminals to wire (plug or socket). I think your wires could be a LR designation as they seem to have a habit of using tracers...

Edit - could be wrong though...
