TD5 starter question!

Recommended Posts

My starter is beginning to act weird lately. If I leave my Defender standing for 2 days or more it won't start.

Like it's stuck or something, because it doesn't even crank when I turn to key.

But if I crawl under it and give the starter a good whack with the handle of a screwdriver, it starts like nothing was wrong.

It have done it twice now. If it's just overnight, there is nothing wrong.

Only thing I can think of, is to replace the contacts in the starter solenoid.

Any other suggestions?
