nige90
Has anyone had success with these aircon regassing cans and if so which one for a '95 Discovery. Halfrauds have quite a range.

ltwt1981
Used a Halfords one earlier this year and it seemed OK.
andyb
Good for just a top up but remember that a proper A/C service will recover the oil, vac the system to boils off any water and then repleish oil and refill system. Good places will also do a leak check with a gas sniffer or a dye that shows up under a UV light. There is a reason why the Halfords bottle are about £10-15 and a proper service is £60-90. Just my thoughts on the matter
disco_al
didn't they change the law recently on air con work? IIRC you are supposed to be properly trained to do the job safely - if so, how can Halfraud's sell home regass kits ???
andyb
didn't they change the law recently on air con work? IIRC you are supposed to be properly trained to do the job safely I think that is to do with the replacement of components, because you are dealing with a pressuised gas system. Altho I have fixed one leak with a couple of wraps of PTFE tape on a thread
GBMUD
Rather than me copying and pasting or parroting other people's posts, this was done recently on the MX5 club forum. Further down the page is some talk of the new rules and the wheres and whys of it. HTH Chris
karlo
I used kwik fit last year they charge £45 to do it on a machine, although they don't repair air con systems they also had an offer on that stated if it didn't work there would be no charge. Worked for mine and still going strong kwik-fit-air-conditioning
