Croisierre Blanche (sp)

Triangle Vert

Mille Riviers

Trophee Cevenol

are all good

is where you start - these guys are so organised they make the UK off road scene look like what it really is!

There are loads of other smaller Randonees that you will need to approach at club level but the GRM are the way in there as well

Depends on what you want, cevenol is just awesome, but hard on your truck , if you want tame laning and some decent off road play sites there's the malgre tout which is 4 days in may and good value as all meals are included in price

Good point - the 'mille' and the Cevenol can be tough as can the C'Blanche. Having said that they are all capable in a fairly stock truck. Allow for things like chains for the CB and a winch is more than useful. A good knowledge of working french is a must - so when you are stuck on the Micado (CB section) and the sun has set, you will know how to thank the Taliban (marshals) for getting your bottom out of a sling.

Try thses guys - we met them a few years back in the Auvergne

Thanks guys, I don't want anything too damaging, as I'll have to drive the truck home again, but a few days 'challenging' laning would be good....

I'm sure I've read something about Triangle Vert...

Cevenol is hard on your truck, and its a 500 mile drive from calais. try these http://www.nro-aventure.com/Raid-du-Malgré-Tout-7.html, done the Malgre tout about 5 times, its a road book through the french country side, giving you some tame and hard lanes as well as off road sites. £200 each for 4 days over the ascension holidays in May. Includes campsite, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. Although the briefing is in french there is a couple of english speaking frenchman there, also a few brits go. Its worth is as its normally done around the champagne region so not to far a drive.

heres a link to our club that went the weather is normally scorching but it was pretty damp last year. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=m7mtx9pY_fc

I'm interested in this.... do you need a serious off-roader with big M/Ts or is it OK in a daily driver with A/Ts and decent recovery points, etc?

Minimum TYRES are m/t, no winch required as plenty of help from organizers . Expect light scrathes but it's very enjoyable .
