redben101
Bit off topic but here goes. I am more than fed up with the tediousness of having to remove a bike wheel to fit my MTB in the back of my hardtop 90 and then find that it is a squeeze to get another bike in as well. I dont have a spare wheel on the back do so that type of rack is out, so a tow hitch mounted rack is the answer i hope. I have found two racks which seem to clamp onto the actual ball of the hitch; Thule Rack Hollywood Rack or a bolt on rack; Pendle Rack I am leaning towards the Thule rack but am a little concerned as to how tight the rack holds onto the ball of the hitch as obviously my truck will bounce around the road more than a standard renault or so forth. Any views/opinions on what rack to go for would be much appreciated. Cheers Ben
headhunter
Ben I have a 4 bike Pendle rack for sale, fits a standard towbar in excellent condition. Let me know if you are interested £40 + p&p. I could get it to Peterborough LR Fest if you know anyone coming up this way. John

Turbocharger
I hope I don't interrupt a sale here, but I've just always ratchet-strapped MTBs to the spare wheel on the back door. That said, my back door's knackered and the bike's not worth anything either...
ozzie1989
If you're after the real deal then buy a Maxx Raxx... I have one and it's fab. It is a little more expensive than the others, but the quality is there and I know people who've had them for years without problems
headhunter
Ben I have the standard (no offset) version designed for no spare wheel on the rear. It will fit a 90 with a normal 2 bolt towbar fitting. John headhunter, is it the offset version e.g. 6 inch offset or 10 inch offset?Cheers Ben

I have the spare mounted on a Swing away carrier...and slightly larger rubber than the norm.... I'm looking at a MaxxRaxx carrier - but I'm not sure which of the two 4x4 versions would actually fit (the Discovery or the 4x4)? Has anyone fitted one? I am looking to carry 4 bikes. Anderzander
Wow! you're getting full use out of your 110! I'm making a rack to fit in the back of the 90 - I've no seats in the back so I'll be able to mount the bikes across with the front wheels out. It means when we go to the lakes we can go for an evening meal after the ride without worrying they'll be lifted off the back.

G_Cam
Here's a pic without the bikes, Thanks Dave Is that the 'fully loaded' look.... ahhh just what a 110 was built for. Your rack looks like just the job..... I will have a search around for a Simbars. They look a bit better value vs a maxxraxx one as well! I assume that it was the 'back plate' that needed modified? thanks Graham

Dave K
I'll sort out a pic in a few days. I drilled a hole for the wheel stud, & just to make sure it stayed on, I also drilled/tapped bolted the plate to the wheel carrier Hope this helps.
