way too deep
i put another gearbox in my disco and took it out for a test drive and when i slow down coming to a halt it seems as if the gears are still engaged..even if i put it in neutral and coast for the last few yards there is a horrible juddering thru the box that continues even when fully stopped maybe 10 to 15 seconds afterwards...the gearbox was performing ok in the previous disco,,the only extra job i did was change the hand brake assembly and new rear output shaft seal...anyone have any ideas what is going wrong ..thanks robbie
BogMonster
99% sure your handbrake is too tight and binding on a high spot on the drum this gives a horrible banging noise on deceleration exactly as described. Back off the adjuster a bit and see what happens
