Turbocharger
If it's the camera southbound on the A23 by the park, well within the 30mph limit, then you can sleep (slightly) easier. It flashed me about three years ago when I lived in Brighton but I was sure I was doing less than 30mph. I went back, parked next to it and watched it. It flashed quite a few cars spaced out over half an hour, and then finally flashed an empty piece of road - I decided it was just on a timer. That said, this info's quite out of date now so you could still have points on the way. /OT

FridgeFreezer
Back home warm and *dry* , and finally I've had a L2B where nothing broke - I didn't so much as lift the bonnet! Although I did fix a Tdi on the seafront Some picamatures for you, first from the Shire LRC evening entertainments: Glow Cones were better than expected How many LR clubs bring disco lights and fire poi, eh? (Thanks to little Dave for bringing the poi) Dan, Jen and Rich under the glitterball - I won't upload the photo of Tracey with her glow-in-the-dark stars A queue of Landies, Dan and Jen modelling the UFO-BBQ effect - it got some great double-takes from passers by Another classic Series, although some heretic had stuck coil springs under it TJN Unparking through a rather narrow gap The awards lineup Sweeeet S1 This 90 won "Best off-roader", I don't wish to be contentious but it wouldn't have been my first choice - although I did notice the owner had coloured in the word "Extreme" on his tyre walls. Rather summed the truck up unfortunately An altogether more tasteful job - don't think it was a real Camel but it was very smart.

Guest WALFY
Is it just me. I don't get it . Drive to London, camp the night, then drive to Brighton (home of blokes in comfortable shoes). Then go home. What is so special about it? Does some of the entrance money go to charity? Doesn't say on the website. You get a nice plaque. Yippee and a t shirt. They go on about off setting the C02 from the veh but what about the C02 from the production of the plaque/t shirts. You can go on about meeting mates and having a laugh. But is that the only time of year that you do it. You/we all go away offroading with mates and have a BBQ and a few beers. So why travel to town for it where they don't want you anyway. You'll all prob moan at me for this post but at the end of the day I still don't get the point. Perhap's I'm just old and grumpy . If they made a BIG donation to a worthwhile charity, something that would benefit people in the UK then you could justify it.
FridgeFreezer
Walfy - I know what you're saying, but then why does anyone go to Billing for that matter? The L2B is an excuse for a party, and seeing 1000+ trucks lined up along the front is pretty impressive too. TBH I prefer the L2B to Billing, as there's no pretence of anything but getting together and having a laugh. Sure you see most of your mates in "normal" off-roading, but there are some spread round the countryside who you don't see, or who can't make it out very often, so a big gathering like that can bring people together - for example, forumers from across the country who would never usually bump into each other. Guest WALFY
Again Billing. Started off as a sociable LR weekend for like minded people to meet and get a few bargains. That is no longer the case. Now it has got too commercialised and has lost the atmosphere. It has been noted that the numbers have dropped the past couple of years. So at the end of the day it's a p*ss up. Oh well each to their own. And no I haven't done the L2B in the past and I have no inclination to do it in the future.
TJ101
Mark,, If you spell it out like you have,, can see some sense in your post,, BUT,, you have the wrong end of the stick Again Last year was glorious weather,, and, a good time had,, This year, weather was even forecast as c r a p, and still had a good time,, (and you know me and camping !!!) Next year, will probably go again,, even try and drag a "old and grumpy" git along
Guest WALFY
Tim So I do speak some sense then. I think I have a grasp of what is the gist of it. Just a group of clubs coming together for a p*ss up. I don't do the club thing. Tried it and didn't like it. I belong to 1 of the most exclusive clubs in the UK. And I won't be chasing to be part of another.
Jen
The money this year went to a Leukemia Charity IIRC, there was a bit about it in the run guide. L2B always has been and to me always will be: An excellent 'end of show season' party B) Whether it be sunny or raining. But that's the great thing about Land Rover events isn't it? Something for everyone
GBMUD
The money this year went to a Leukemia Charity IIRC, Being quite close to the 'show' area Si and I heard a lot about it over the course of the day. My favourite unintentional quote was 'Lukemia is the fastest growing cancer in our children today'. Chris

FridgeFreezer
While we argue over how much of an anti-social git Walfy is and who's in the most exclusive club, here's some more pictures: The SLRC rendez-vous: TJN on the left, stood by his 90: A lovely Series, a Disco, and some ropey old red thing: The MegaSquirt disco lights in full effect B) Little Dave playing with fire: Welcome to sunny Brighton:

Guest WALFY
No I'm not arguing that fact. I know I'm grumpy and old. It's just the ethos(?) of the event I don't get . Like I said each to their own
tacr2man
To a certain degree I can see Walfy s point of view, being Land Rovers, a different route and destination eg national park would seem more logical . as these are not low ground clearance gt cars JMHO
Ryan
A certain FF models the latest must-have-Land-Rover-party fashion wear. Not to be outdone though, our treasurer, Henry, came dressed in his usual stylish way (yes he normally looks like this ) Oh, and he was wearing these:
