Juz
Hi All, At idle, the whole wagon vibrates and rattles (like most old diesels I guess), but if I depress the accelerator even a mm or so, it smoothes out nicely, so I'm thinking of increasing the idle spped slightly. Is there anything I need to know or worry about before I do this? Juz
JimAttrill
No. It's a good idea to smooth it out a bit. On my 300tdi the vibration undid the two head bolts that hold on the air cleaner!
silvio
...yes, if you want your exhaust to last...
Madcowz
What an excellent idea. I have been sitting at traffic lights and junctions with my foot ever so slightly on the pedal. Much easier to just adjust the idle speed. Will do it at the weekend. mad
Juz
...yes, if you want your exhaust to last... Is that 'yes I should worry' and increasing the idle speed is a bad idea? Juz
roybatty666
What about the panadas'!!!!! Clearly all these faster tick overs will increase CO2 and directly cause the death of numerous monochrome bamboo eating mammals
western
200tdi idle spped should be 750 to 800rpm
Ex Member
Wait until you are fully at temperature, then adjust until it is smooth. Simple.
