Guest diesel_jim
There are several types. one is a "cast" item, very expensive! part # FRC7315 and £126.18!!! (Early type) to VIN LA939976 4 cylinder suffix 22D t/box then there's the "bent piece of flat bar" type: FTC4095 £5.59 from VIN MA939976 and the "piece of wider flat bar bent over into a C shaped channel" type, FRC8204 £30.36, from VIN LA939975
wyllie
Thanks for the reply, its the cast type. THe broken part is made from round material and fits to the bottom of the main pivot lever (not shown on the drawing)

paul stage1v8
I think he is talking about the link which comes off the bottom of #14 onto the operating lever from the box, the u shaped piece?
western
might be item 16 on this diagram
wyllie
Thanks Western, you have the right part, but my gearbox is pre 1987, my connecting link has the legs at 90 degrees - see photo I think I've put the photo on twice, its my first attempt
western
there's 2 part numbers for that link bar in the list on the diagram above, FRC8544 or FTC3698 check the note 1 & 2 & the transfer box serial number, that will tell you which bar you need. also on the LT230 TB parts page when fitted to LT85 gearbox, it shows FRC7948 which is exactly what your photo shows so it's most likely that one. wyllie
Many thanks, will ring around to try & find FRC7948. Maybe Land Rover used the same connecting link on early 90's as on the LT85. Your efforts appreciated

Guest diesel_jim
I've got one in the garage (on another t/box) which is the bent rod, but in an upside down "U" shape, if thats any good? the above pic looks like it's "U" shaped but with one end turned through 90 degrees? if the "U" shaped one is any good, you can have it mate.
