The plan so far is Meet up somewhere, probably the Bustard inn at Larkhill unless someone suggests a better place, and the time is 10am. The route is still undecided and i am open to suggestions So far its only me but hopefully there will be some takers, Also anyone is welcome, and if you have a requests to see certain parts of the plain or do certain byways let me know, Dan

stevenew
Dan, If your trip does not work out, I am planning a trip (definitely going) to Salisbury Plain leaving Dorset on 24 Oct and meandering up to the Plain via some byways, etc, camping out on Friday and Saturday 25/26 Oct 08, driving Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Just the normal byways and evening barbecue stuff! If you or anyone is interested in coming along for all or part, drop me a post for details. Only campsite that is there abouts is by the Bustard Inn. Marshals are a bit hot about camping out there. A lot of heavy armour is out and about now and in the near future

We used the bustard as a base for the SCOR randonee the past 2 years and the only camping has been in the back garden of the bloke who lives opposite the pub, as he's a friend of the landlord. There was loads of heavy armour rolling about back in mid september. I nearly parked on top of a sniper in the dark. It was a bit of a shock when he just stood up next to the car, said "Evening" and walked on...

Shrewton, Salisbury Wiltshire, SP3 4SH - so no problems with the boys in green - and near enough direct access to the plain via a couple of byways.
