Grant.
Hi everyone, I want to fit a winch on my TD5 with aircon but i want to hide it, i dont quite know where, but i am guessing underneath and/or behind the front bumper... anyone got any suggestions or pictures? Thanks Grant
Mo Murphy
Trouble with this approach, Grant, is that hidden usually means inaccessible. If you want to hide it, cut out the front chassis cross member and have a bespoke weld in winch cradle made to replace it. HTH Mo
BogMonster
Land Rover supplied a Warn M8000 on a hidden under/behind bumper mount, I have no idea if it is still available but it was quite neat. As Mo says, the trouble is that something like that tends to fill up with Sh&*% and be hard to get at both to maintain and monitor the cable going onto the drum etc.
101sean
I had one of these mounts on my aircon 110 bodged on by a dealer. Can't see the winch at all or what rope is doing. You also have to grovel around underneath for the freespool lever. It's a fairly simple tray but you also have to cut a chunk out of the bumper. The winch is now fitted in a very indiscrete First Four winch bumper
