Hybrid_From_Hell
Doing me reasearch re V8 EFI coil. had a look at me manuals : Lucas and Bosch are both interchangable, and will fit and work on both EFI Flapper and Hotwire systems Am thinking abiout this.... The most expensive is not always the best, but in orsder of qulaity most would agree that where an ignition coil is concerned. 1. Intermotor is cheap rubbish (and their right it is) rubbish and £11 + vat the "genuine LR" suggest either a 2. Lucas unit - RTC 5628 @ £35 + vat.... and I would thing the best would be a 3. Bosch - PRC 6574 at a staggering £68 + vat from Lr So FAVOUR TIME PLEASE can you look if you have LR V8, dico, RR, defender etc etc.... See what coil is fitted, if it is a Bosch can you have a close peeky at it, bosch normally shove their own numbers on everything, my bet is if I go to a bosch agent / motor factors.... and ask for part number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx stamped on the coil it will be a whole load cheaper than LR genuine stealership prices HELP PLEASE !! imspanners
What about Unipart? If you've got a Partco or Brown Brothers nearby, they can supply Unipart ones. The number (if I remember correctly) was GCL143 which recently (I think) changed to GCL343 ??

orange rover
THANKYOU !Sanity finally speaks Nige i have used both, lucas as well as bosch. they pretty much look the same, the bosch seems to be a lot more water resistant when wading. otherwise can't see a lot of difference. Rocket
Nige Sorry I can't help mine is only a lowly lucas job, but please let us know how you get on with the Bosch part Number. I am all in favour of beating the system and the blatant daylight robbery that main dealers of many makes (not just LR) pass off as a parts service.
