GBMUD
we may need to have a think on numbers as SimonR says he wants to go too... Sorry Mo, the above statement and reality are quite different. ...though Si was threatening to go when I saw him last week. Chris
Mo Murphy
No worries Chris, "I'll go" and "I'm here" are always two different things Mo
GBMUD
Hmmm, my last post came across a bit severe sounding, it was meant to have a lighter tone. Chris
simonr
OK - I am thinking about going, but am struggling to find time to do everything I HAVE to do, never mind would like to do! Defo don't want to lead a group - navigation has never been a\strong point for me! Writing nav software is a kind of compensation thing. Don't care who I'm with - the whole object of things like this is to meet new people! Si
simonr
Tell you what - I will go! If none of the groups will have me I can always sit in the hotel and do my VAT Return! Is SteveG's hotel room still available? Does the hotel sell Port? Is everyone stating at the same hotel? If I can find a passenger who can operate Memory Map / X-Nav - I guess we could lead a group. The group could potentially lead itself collectively via CB? Si
Guest WALFY
Si If you introduce Port on either evening I think the next day could be very short. Depending on the price.
TJ101
"O" NO,, NOT THE PORT AGAIN !!!!! I'll bring the anadin again for you Chris,, as you say Mark,, could be a late start Sunday Great to hear your coming Si
GBMUD
OK, since Si's late decision to come, and since neither he nor I has a passenger to assist with navigation, I am now planning to leave my car at home and go as Si's navigator. This means a slight upheaval with the groups but I think that everyone is now in a group. Please check the groups in post one of this thread and check that they work out for all involved. I have made a promise to myself that I will not drink (much) this weekend. Cheers Chris

sticky
Jst,, Think Mark may be taking you up on your offer,, and "phoning a Friend" !!! 1st point - Thought Mark was too grumpy to have any friends!?! 2nd point - -I would have offered to lead a group but for the fact Highlighter version 4.1 (2colours) and a paper map was not good enough for previous jaunts!!!! Sticky,, Would be handy, if you were not a tight git, and booked the hotel, as i am sure Laura would appreciate it, and be forever grateful !!! Then our group are all at the same base Yeah i know, but L is not earning this year so i am paying for 2 for the whole weekend... am looking at it tonight, if i cant get in, i will be where i need to be earlier than required... GBMUD
Strike a light! It is almost the weekend! Before we go, would everyone please read, look at, UNDERSTAND and, where you think it might help, print the following pages taken from the Peak District NP's website: http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-...s/residents.htm http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-...cles-routes.htm http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-...icles-legal.htm http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-...cted-byways.htm http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-...ehicles/tro.htm http://www.peakdistrict.org/index/looking-.../motorusers.htm It is most important of all that group leaders have read and understood but if everyone knows then it will save time and hassle. I plan to print a copy of all the TRO, voluntary restraint etc. maps and I am happy for all to look at my set, subject to being where I am Friday night - as far as I know currently, the bar at the Quality Hotel. Thanks Chris
Guest WALFY
Tim I see you lurking. I've just printed off all the pages Chris has mentioned. I'll update MM on Fri evening or as we go on Sat. I'll photocopy 1 spare set. First to shout can have it.
