cooper
I have just purchased a good condition gear box, Its a ZF 4 speed auto, But there are no markings on the gearbox to say this, also it has a chain driven transfer box, where as mine has a viscous unit (i am lead to belive). If so are they interchangeable?? Cheers Shaun
FridgeFreezer
By "ZF 4-speed" do you mean "Torqueflight 3-speed" as I rather suspect that's what it is. And by "chain driven" do you in fact mean "gear driven" like what that LT230 bolted to the back of it should be? Your viscous transfer box, unless it's very very old, would be chain driven. ZF i was under the impression it was a ZF4HP22 sorry yes i meant gear driven( please forgive me as i am new to all this) here's the ebay Item number: 200265368737 Have i got the wrong box????? will it work in my '92 3.9 V8? FridgeFreezer
Unless there's a version of the 4HP22 that looks nothing like other 4HP22's and instead looks very similar to a TF727, I'd say that's most definitely a TF727 which is 3-speed and will not be an easy fit into your car. If you've bought it and don't want it, I'd be interested in the transfer box
