tpk241 Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Hi All, I need to get a new turbo unit for my 300TDI and I am not sure whether the recon engine fitted previous to me buying is from a defender or a discovery. A couple of questions: 1. Are the turbo units / manifolds different on the two engines 2. BogMonster Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 200s are different but I am pretty sure the turbo/manifold on a 300 is interchangeable The engine number can provide a hint as to the origin, what is it? But I know it doesn't matter because my Defender has a 21L engine which is officially an EDC Disco engine. But it never had EDC or EGR at all!
