Daan
whoah!!!! Let's go back and look at the question:The first is objective, the one that I responded to, not having seen the second one, which is purely subjective. ... but ofcourse if you want to discuss the merits of both types of fan even to restart the electric vs viscous debate then continue.... B) Lets blow my trumpet again because I think i found the best: SUCK and BLOW! Cant go wrong there at any speed, especially because it can be Electric AND Viscous! Si Mechanical fan hub with an electrically operated clutch? Like an aircon pump clutch so it can be locked/unlocked by switch or operated automatically by a thermostat? If it isn't, it should be, as that would be the best of both worlds. Regards, Diff

Regards, Diff Could Be! It struck me as the best of both worlds too! It was drawn in the pub about the size oof a postage stamp on the back of a beer mat! Doesn't look so good blown up. I'll see if I can find some fans and knackered viscose units for the thread sizes and hole centres - and build a prototype using the coil from an air-con pump. Daan
Hydraulic, now there's a plan! I ve seen it done, using the powersteering system. The winner of the last RFC was running this to operate his rear mounted radiator. It was using standard Toyota components. Daan
