draper40
Hey, So I now have a mud dash console and a sony head unit. How do you fit the head unit in the dash? Thanks Pete
jcwcooper
In what way do you mean? Where have others put theirs or making the hole for the stereo to fit into? With mine I have used the angled top slot, I marked around the metal cage that the stereo locks into and then bent a load of the tabs on the cage over to make sure it doesnt move around......just make sure you make the stereo cage a tight fit before you bend over the tabs. Godlykepower
Pete, you can put your stereo anywhere you want to! Thats the beauty of Mud Dash Consoles. Before I flogged mine, I cut out the hole for the stereo at the bottom (so that it would sit behind the gear lever) so that I could keep the top angled face free for additional gauges, as they are in perfect line with the gauges in the main dash. If you do mount it at the bottom, you have to cut out the bit of your dash behind the Mud console, and the stereo will pass through that gap. Up to you in the end though mate. wozza35
Or buy a cubby with a stereo mount and put it there more room for switches and dials then
Philip Tonkin
Pete, you need to cut away the portion of the dash at the bottom where the rear wash and cig lighter were if you want to fit the stereo as per late td5. Mud site has some examples.
Jonathan
I made my own centre dash and have not had to do any cutting to the original dash Just need to buy the switches from Mudd and wire up
