stobbie
My 110 is getting a little 'cloink'. I suspect the drive flanges? Should I buy half shafts with integral flange? I think they cannot wear out anymore?
western
or weld the flanges to the halfshaft, done by a few on here.

JimAttrill
Mine are welded, partly to stop the LH shaft pushing off the plastic hub cap. If you want to weld yours, follow these rules otherwise they will break easily: Use a TIG, not a MIG or stick welder. Weld with the parts fitted to the axle to keep the alignment correct. Do NOT weld on the inside - this will cause the end to break off easily.
roybatty666
Are you sure it is your shaft /flanges? from my experience it is normally the g-box/output gear spline wear that causes the common transmision clonk.

I haven't checked yet, but I thought the R380 boxes didn't wear out the splines that easy anymore....

Indeed they don't as they have the crossdrilled output gear but I didn't know you had a r380 Didn't the 300tdi/r380 equiped landies come with the 24spline one piece shaft and flanges or was there a period that they had the seperate ones? forkrentfitter
why not use the aftermarket hardened drive flanges, apparently the bearmach ones are pretty good.
