CRAZY REV COUNTER

Hi all,

Heres one for you,

Can anyone shed some light on why my rev counter suddenly goes haywire when I turn on my lights and why it dances in time to my indicators.

I'm sure someone out there will have had the same experience.

sounds like an issue with either the connection on the alternator, or the alternator itself, as this is where the rev countaer takes it feed from.

Check the connections at the back of it, and make sure they are in good order.

as above check the alternator to see if its charging

Had the same problem myself only a short while ago, in the end it turned ut to be a faulty alternator although you do get the same thing just by having a loose wire or grud on the brushes

Wowd'y I also had a similar problem and was looking at maybe having to get another Alternator,but Idecided to have a look. Took the alt. off, opened the back cover,gave it a clean and a squirt of CRC, put it back and no more problems. Worth a try
