Hello,

My 200tdi disco has started to vibrate heavily for no apparent reason. Its worst under engine braking, the whole dash judders. It also seems to have a mind of it's own when driving at 50+mph which can be quite interesting when it suddenly veers heavily on the motorway. So far i've jacked all wheels off the ground to check the wheel bearing are ok and they all are and I've also replaced the swivel house bearings and the steering damper as they were very worn out but didnt make too much improvement. So I'm a bit stuck now, could it be the radius arm bushes?? any ideas anyone??

I should check all the bushes, shock absorbers (and bushes!). Check the swivel preload if you didn't set it up by the book when you changed the bearings - it needs to be right or will produce a death wobble at speed especially if there is a wheel out of balance. And of course check the wheel balance and check tyres for bulges/distortion this can happen when wires inside the tyres let go, easy enough to see if a tyre is out of shape if you jack it up and get somebody to spin it while you look at the tyre end on (i.e. from the front or rear)
