DOUBLE BEADLOCK RIMS

Has any one got Double bead lock rims between southampton and redditch i can look at or even borrow one for a weekend, I want to try and make some. I like the Staz ones but just can't justfy the cost of them.

Probably the most cost effective double beadlocks are the Hummer H1 16.5 rims...get a set, burn out the center, fab your own for the Land Rover pattern, weld in, and that's that...50$ a wheel here in the US, 200$ for 4...put them on a palette and ship them...no?

Don't suppose you know of any companies that can ship these over to the UK at reasonable expense? I agree they are a great product for the money, they do make sourcing tyres a little tricky though in the UK as 16.5" isn't a commonly used size.

I need 16inch or i'll have to get more tyres, i have access to a CNC laser cutter to do the cutting, with 2 sets of 16 inch mods to play with so just want to have a look at making some.......

You need to speak to saley, he has been playing about with split rims that trap both sides of tyre and they work a treat, Shure he would make a batch if there is interest,

A good suggestion, I've seen saley's solution which looks effective, not too complicated to do either.

But I liked the idea of the hummer rims as they are slightly bigger & have a better chance of fitting over unimog portal hubs with less offset, they should be fairly strong, stronger than modulars anyway. Plus the offset will allow more room for the brake calipers I'm fitting to replace the huge drum brakes.
