SLRC @ Brick Kiln on 18th January 2009 (10am-4pm)

As it has only been a few days since our last event, it seems only fair to let you know about our next one. Our first play day for 2009 will be at Brick Kiln Farm near Alton/Four Marks on 18th January 2009 between 10am and 4pm.

The is a small but varied site, with something for all levels of competence. Full details and map here.

The cost is £20 per vehicle.

Since we always get the same questions in the run up to an event, I thought I'd shamelessly copy a part of a post (full blurb here) written by FridgeFreezer on our club forum to clarify the club's position on play days:

To drive at a Shire LRC event you must already be a member, which means at the very least the membership officer has received and processed your membership/renewal and added your details to the membership database.

You cannot join & drive on the same day, or join the night before, etc. etc. as it does not give us enough time to process your membership.

So, PLEASE try to get your membership/renewal in well in advance of any event you want to attend - it's best to allow at least two weeks for your membership to be processed.

Brick Kiln is a piece of la Pissine, completed everything they had to offer with my 90 on Saharas

If you just drove round in the ruts then I can imagine that would be true... I'm willing to bet we could get you stuck more than once.

Hi all,

I had a great day taking part (competing!) in the punch challenge. I think it was a great success, can't wait for the next!

I'll get some pic up here later and also send all my pics to photos (at) shirelrc.com

I thought my power steering was a bit heavy on the way home. Later found my pas belt sitting in my diff guard tray at the front!

See you all at Hogmore!

You did pretty wel yourself today Steve, I think you were only 4 or 5 punches short of the winners, so well done :)

It was a fun day... Jules did a crackin' job of running the event, well done matey :)

Excellant, not bad for my first attempt!

Brick Kiln seems an excellant site for a punch challenge as the site is quite small, so a little easier than say Slab Common!

Yeah the weight loss is starting to kick in. I am on the LR diet, spend money on LR parts rather than food!

The recovery did eat three winches.

Thanks again to all who helped and those who took the tiddle too!
