pw8757 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Hi Folks, Anyone have the cunning plan for putting an additional rear lamp up in the rear wing of a Discovery? Mine are just down on the bumpers. I have an issue with the wiring anyway and thought that whilst I was down there I might as well put extra lights up in the existing clusters...... Thanks in anticipation Quote
pw8757 Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 What like this Actually, I had just thought of taking out the blanking plug and putting in an extra red lamp.....................however, that looks like a better solution.....................where from and how much? Quote
Disco Sev Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Actually, I had just thought of taking out the blanking plug and putting in an extra red lamp.....................however, that looks like a better solution.....................where from and how much? They are just units from an earlier Disco. Should be plenty around and not too expensive. Plenty of different lighting combinations but most people have two sets of sidelights and two sets of indicators. That leaves the standard brake/fog/reverse. Quote

[/quote hi there changed my 300 tdi's 2 months ago free of charge, just my time max 2hrs by using the existing lights simply remove light clusters, the top bulb holder should have a small strip of metal that joins 2 pieces together (ie brake and tail lights mine already had a stop/tail bulb fitted) you will have to trace it, that needs to be broken and slightly bent upwards, connect a piece of suitable wire (i used a small block connector) then run the wire down to the tail light in the bumber and connect to red wire in a suitable way i used bullet connectors then test if ok replace clusters and tidy up wires under the vehicle and you should now have 4 tail lights 2 in the bumper and 2 in the clusters and i feel safer driving at night as i am lit up more i hope this helps you discosfa Quote
