CJRH Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Hello, I need to make up an exhaust for my Series 2 200tdi conversion. I have been looking at exhaust pipe expanders on Ebay so that I can make sleeved joints, there is one make, Lisle which appear to be very good quality but also very expensive and cheap non branded ones. Has any one had any experience with these, are they any good? Cheers, Chris Ebay, Lisle Ebay, non branded Quote

Paul Wightman Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I bought the non-branded version some time ago,............... carp! Quote
paintman Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 If you can weld then why not use ready made joints? Try http://www.jetex.co.uk/index.php Quote
HoggyN Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I tried to buy one of these direct from Eastwood when they had a trade counter in Yate. The chap behind the counter said he would rather not sell me one as, in his opinion, it was utter carp. Quote
CJRH Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Cheers for the replies, welding is not a problem, will find out the price of the flexi joints compared to a decent pipe expander. Cheers, Chris Quote
bluespanner Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 These tools are good, but not for expanding. They are for reshaping pipes, i use one all the time, as unipart are good at smushing the ends of exhausts. For expanding, you really need a big ass hydraulic jobby. Quote
