hi im looking at lifting my `73 range rover. whilst browsing on ebay for something suitable i came across these spacers

for £55 i dont think theyre expensive compared to £200 for new springs and shocks.

does anyone have these spacers fitted? they have the spacers for the rear shocks unlike many other kits

any suggestions on a better kit, do these look ideal?

thanks

i have these and 2"lift springs and shocks on my old disco and will put them on my new 1 too when it stops being so cold outside!! there will be people on here who say they are rubbish for whatever reason but i have been using them for over a year with a 2" lift and they have done the job... no problems and reccomend them... p.s made mine myself and it cost about £25 for the box section and nuts and bolts etc......

For not much money you can buy pattern part springs that will lift a RRC, my current springs are green/pink stripes front and red/white stripes rear. This resulted in a slightly stiffer 1.5" lift for under £65 but to be honest I would sooner spend a bit more and get genuine parts instead.

If you do relocate the damper mounts then you will also need to do something about the brake lines otherwise the axles will be able to drop further than the brake lines were designed for resulting in failure. The common bolt on option is to fit longer flexible lines, but there are other ways.

You can relcate the flexible brake lines mounting points on the body by fitting extensions made from ridging brake line, which is cheaper. On the rear the ridgeing brake line is routed such that you can make a bracket extension to move the flexible mounting lower and the ridgid brake line just flexes slightly to the new position.
