titan Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 ok i know I should have done this before but I been away alot and not really thought about it untill now, as I found out my SORN had elapsed and had to renew it, the problem I have is the engine number on log book and the engine in the 90 dont match, I know the engine was fitted early this year from a RR but i was told it was a diesel before that, then it was changed to a v8 petrol but the log book states it a 3.5 v8 petrol just the number dont match, I'm taking the number off the plate under the manifold on the passanger side (where it should be on a rr 3.5) so is this going to cause any problems to get it changed, as I dont have any paper work for the engine being changed and do I need to get this done before I put it through its mot (not for a while yet ) I dont want to leave it till the last min and then have major problems just as I need it many thank in advance shane Quote
western Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 just write the engines serial number in the correct location on the notifications of changes part of the V5 & send it to DVLA. provided the engine type & fuel type match that's all you need. Quote

western Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 IIRC there was a similar thread/question a couple of months back, might be worth a search for 'engine numbers' Quote
