Guest DiscoTD4 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 and EGR owners too... if anyone has access to a multimeter I need to know what the resistance is of the coolant temp switch (the one on the cylinder head under the sound proofing) on a cold engine at say 0 degC A reading at running temp would be great as well if possible. cipx2 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 You could have called the 300tdi EGR owners as well. Here are the values from the OEM datasheet: Electrical resistance at –10°C = 8.26…10.56 kΩ Electrical resistance at +20°C = 2.28…2.72 kΩ Electrical resistance at +80°C = 0.290…0.364 kΩ Quote

cipx2 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 No, there are no other values. But in that temp range, -10 ... +20 C, the characteristic curve is quite linear so you can use linear interpolation to get some values for 0 C (use the middle points for the resistance ranges given). Quote

OK cheers, I'm drawing the graph now.... Quote
