Which oil for ACE & PAS

Hi All,

Need to top up the resevoir for the ACE and PAS, by just a smidge. Went to our local car parts shop to get some oil. Book states Texaco Cold Climate PAS fluid 14315. He phoned his supplier for an equivalant, only to be told it is a dealer only oil. Surely this cannot be true. Does anyone know or use an alternative without any ill effects.

Many Thanks

Mike

If you want to go for the genuine stuff then the LR part # is STC50519. It seems Britpart stocks it http://www.britpart.co.uk/Accessory.asp?Pa...cessoryRef=1290 and you can order online from their resellers - for example http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listi...ID-1-LITRE.html

On the other hand, any Dexron III from a decent brand will do.

For climates with an ambient below -20'C you need Texaco Cold Climate.

For climates above -20'C you need Dexron 2 or Dexron 3 fluid. It's Automatic transmission fluid as well. Unipart stock it, so do Halfords. I paid £14 for 5litres. If you are in Durham you can have a drop.
