Tom Goldsmith
Many thanks for all the useful replies. I have bought some Armaflex insulation on ebay and will start the job once the weather improves and I can get the truck properly dried out. monty
The Armaflex insulation that you have bought...is this the seller "amstoreuk" ? The reason why I ask, is that on the item title, it states 25metres but in the description it is only 1metre...
pedro
I have no experience with extreme cold in my hardtop 110 LR but more the other way. Went mad on insulation, mainly bubble wrap foil but where possible Kingspan 50mm, glued on with impact adhesive and covered with marine plywood (think I must have been high as really enjoyed doing this job!) The noise reduction (along panels at bk) was amazing, solid thuds rather than hollow wobbly panels. I used spray adhesive for the foil mount in the front cab and replaced the headlining after, perfect! This REALLY helped in my opinion and this combined with the hard top rear tub kept the shade effect to a maximum. I had no air con, my brother did. Two schools of thought. I acclimatised by the time i reached southern morocco, so was ok outside of the car, the others who werent exposed, suffered in the heat as reliant on a/c. We experienced temps in excess of 45 from Madrid, then upto 55deg S Morocco!! Insulation was cheap a/c and improves noise levels.
