Nice to have this info :)

I could be interested as well...

...assuming it's the same event which has been covered in this month LRM

(credits:Patrick & Patricia Vandickelen and TAT organisation)...?

The only issues for me would be:

- participation is for teams of two vehicles

I'd need to find the other half of the team

- my trusted co-driver doesn't speak English but oh well...

- price to enter the event???

First thing,welcome guys.

The prices

- The accomodation is 200 Euros/person, for the whole period of the competition, no matter if you are a spectator, a competitor or in the technical assistance.

This includes 3 nights in a 3 star hotel in a double room and catering for one week (from Sunday till Saturday morning)

During the bivouac period breakfast and dinner will be provided on site and sandwiches will keep you going through the day.

Mmh,that's not too bad considering what's included.

We have far less exciting gatherings here for such steep prices...

<_<

As to my friend Mauro,he only speaks Italian.

Maybe I could drag Ben to co-drive instead

:D

for some Aussie fashion

B)

Thanks for the links.

I'm going to give the forum a look.

Like I said Jim, "Spam but relevant spam I guess." Ionut's first and only post was an advert - I see he now has three posts, all in the one thread.

Michele,

Interesting competition - I assume your looking to enter the 'Extreme' event.

I would be interested in doing the 'Open' event, but put off by the 3000 mile round trip :o, unless Audi can tow 90 on a trailer - theres a thought. Might also have to fit my AT tyres on again

Think it would take me 3 days to get there. So think I'll bow out this year. Also noticed - limited to 30 competitors per class. Otherwise sounds really good B) , and certainly more interesting than my planned off-road holiday to Wales, this August.

I'm waiting to find out if Michele decides to go (be some great pics out of it)

Well,it's not exactly up to me only...

Main issues are my co-driver's availability, fuel cost, and spares support eventually...

Giving my new job I could try and ask the boss for a sponsorship...

Peter

I have yet to look into details,my truck is certainly not "extreme".

I don't have a rollcage,which would be a limit

:(

But I agree with you about the idea of an holiday.

Sounds a great idea to match tourism, travelling and wheeling.

As to the span question,I couldn't say if it is.

Maybe the guys just wrote it in a tad formal way...

Dear friends,

We are starting the registrations for TAT 2006!

In order to ensure a high standard of quality and safety for the competition, only 30 vehicles for each class (60 in total) are allowed to participate.

There are already 10 cars on the waiting list, so hurry up and fill your registration form today at

Hello off-roader friends!

TAT 2006 has just closed the doors! It was a fantastic adventure's week with a little bit of everything: mud and dusty roads, heavy stormy rain and crystal clear sun, forestry paths and rocky rivers. Although some difficult stages on the EXTREME section made it impossible for eleven cars to continue, the remaining eigth teams (meaning sixteen cars) safely reached the finish line.

You can find the results and the photos at

We have also the Open section wich is suited for less prepared cars.

This way you can enjoy the same beautiful landscape but without ruining your car.

That sounds like something I would like to do.

I enjoyed the film, some very extreme stuff there! I guess that most of the footage in the film was of the "extreme" course? The countryside looks wonderful. :) Do I remember correctly that you allow ATVs too?
