aerocorey
When I bought my 90 all it had for an air intake is a cone filter strapped to the turbo inlet with a hose clamp. I'd like something a little less vulnerable. I don't NEED a snorkel, but since I'm looking to replace what I've got with something better I'm open to the idea. What've you got? Where did you get it? Did you make something? I'm looking for ideas, but remember, I don't have any of the stock air intake left.
Cat_J
You could get some hose and a 300tdi safari snorkel.
aerocorey
Not quite what I was hoping for. 300Tdi snorkel is on the wrong side and putting a snorkel on requires all of the stock air intake is still in place. I don't have anything except a gaping hole in the front of my turbo with a cone filter jammed on it. Anyone home fab an intake setup? Pics? I'll come up with something I'm sure, but some ideas would be great.
western
with some 3 inch diameter air ducting, the type with a spiral wire reinforcing & suitable hose clips & air cleaner from a USA van or pickup truck it should be possible to make a air intake system up, you would need to find something like a cylindical housing about 7 to 9 inches in diameter & about 10 to 12 inches long with a 3inch diameter inlet & outlet for the ducting to attach to. this is a standard Defender 200Tdi air cleaner assembly, the hose low down on the right is the air intake duct from the left wing side panel, the other hose is self explanatory [turbo clean air from filter element supply] & a overhead view of my engine bay. FridgeFreezer
B&Q - black drainpipe and some sealant, and then find a suitable airbox either put the OE one back in or from something else LR that fits.
