sgnas
I found this tool and it looks fairly good value. Any one seen it in action or cheaper?
Paul Humphreys
I have one of them, but paid about £20 less than that. Paul

Paul Humphreys
You could check the X-Eng website and make your own (simple ) version if you only have to do a few rivnuts As it happens I have had it 8 months and have not used it yet Paul
simonr
Just in case you are interested, it's here: http://www.x-eng.co.uk/rivnut.asp Although I have a grown-up tool, I use this method surprisingly often when access is tight. RivNuts are the best thing since Peanut Butter IMHO!
sgnas
I know that method. Does it work on M8 steel though? But if I could get that tool £20 quid cheaper it would be a bargain. I don't think the ones that look like a "squeeze" hand rivetter are man enough, or rather I may not be man enough to squeeze them! The normal long arm version are about £
Simon Smith
I got the same one from toolbay a couple of years ago, was only about £45.00 if I remember correctly.
Happyoldgit
Yes, they can be had cheaper than that. The long handles do restrict where you can use it but other than that it's not a bad tool.
gruntus
I bought one recently made by Sealey AK 39602 here. It does up to M10 and I have used it with M8 steel rivnuts without too much issue (but enough effort to hurt my joints but thats just age! ) It also does standard rivets. I used it for reassembling my heater unit and could really do with a smaller tool as it can be a bit clunky for smaller jobs. Simon Smith
The one I bought does studs as well, it's gone up a bit since I bought it though! It does work very well and has more than paid for itself. http://www.toolbay.co.uk/Laser-Tools/NutBo...k-Bolt-Kit.aspx
