maxtherotti
hi all i picked up my disco on sat all ok drove 180 miles on sunday then yesterday started having big probs getting into gears now the full clutch was repleced last march (done 17k since) but the garage is saying the original warranty is with the purchaser not the car so its no longer valid?? is this correct? sounds wrong to me rob
Les Henson
Some sellers don't guarantee some components, such as brake linings, clutches, etc. The clutch should have lasted a lot longer than that though. Have you read the fine print on the back of the reciept/invoice? As you are the 3rd party, I would expect you'll have to pay to get it fixed yourself - any guarantee might be with the previous owner and not where he/she bought it from. Les. disco_al
unless it's a guarenteed for life unit, with transferable warranty, then you are stuffed i am afraid. IIRC the only clutch manufacturer to offer a transferable warranty is Quinton Hazell. Most manufacturers stipulate that the warranty cannot be passed on - looks like you have a bill for a clutch coming up? is the clutch fluid up to level, any leaks from the cylinders? clutch fork replaced at the same time? could be other things, other than the clutch of course..... maxtherotti
it,s a borg and beck clutch they fitted they also replaced the fork/release brg/spigot bush/release brg guide/prop rubber etc etc clutch fluid level is spot on when pedal is pressed there is a lot of squeaking in side the bell housing so im guessing the fork or cover plate is at fault double bugger rob
