WESTENDER
i am going to have to bite the bullet soon and take my water pump off as it is leaking, this entails taking the alternator off first, this in turn means disconnecting the battery my vehicle is a 2000 L series fitted with a radio cassete. I dont have a code for the radio can anyone tell me if a code is in fact needed? if i lose the radio where can i get the code? anything tips to make the job easier would be appreciated
Llanigraham
If you disconnect the battery you will need the code fro the radio to work again. Available from your local LR dealer, but they may want prooof the vehicle is yours.
pinkbeef
Take the log book and your driving licince into any Land Rover Dealership and They will supply you with the code. While your there get the immobiliser reset code. just hope the radio was not changed at some time, as the code will be differant.
discomikey
if all else fails, i heard that if you put the radio unit into the freezer overnight it wipes the code and will not ask you for it, it might have been acted against, but aparently it works for most oldish radios. mikey
