disco_al
isn't that a disco lump? the defender turbo is mounted higher up IIRC.
Eightpot
It's possible to rotate the ally bit to make it easier to connect the I/C pipe on when you have a disco engine in a defender - looks like it's been rotated.

poohbear
I have just put a Disco Tdi in my 90 - the turbo outlet is at the same angle as the one in your second picture. I just cut a hole in the inner wing to give me some more room for the 90' elbow. This has allowed me to fit the bottom intercooler pipe in a straight run under the original air box. Dave. If you do rotate the housing you will have to fabricate a new mounting bracket for the actuator arm. Either that or drill and blind tap the ali casting.......
