oakeedokee
Just been quoted £248 + vat + carriage for the brake assembly for a warn M12000 from Arbil. I only needed the spring but have to buy the complete unit. Does anyone know of another (ie. less expensive) source for this part? I tried to give PG winches a call but they appear to be no longer trading.

bishbosh
Unfortunately Phil Gordon of PG Winches passed away late last year. I would contact David Bowyer. He may be able to refurbish the unit you have.
BogMonster
Devon 4x4 sell the winch so may be able to assist
oakeedokee
Thanks for the replies. Does £248 sound a lot for an in-drum brake?
bishbosh
From memory, Phil Gordon quoted me £75 for the brake assembly for an XD9000 a few years ago.... Edited to add - so I got David Bowyer to refurbish the whole winch instead.
Holyzeus
Similarly he quoted me £100 for a 9.5 xp brake about 2 years ago so your estimate does sound a wee bit steep
J@mes
if warn are a non-uk company then dont forget the current economic climate is making importing parts VERY expensive compared to what they used to be!
jacks906
i'd say thats a bit steep i had to get a new drum support plate for my 8274 after the drum snapped an popped it off that was only £180 ish i no its a stab in the dark but any one that supplys warn winchs should be able to get parts for it in theory dave
