Propshaft oil seal?

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete,

As has already been pointed out by "The Novice", there is a diff pinion oil seal. Easy enough to replace with a bit of knowhow and the right tools, but sometimes it's also necessary to replace the drive flange as it can have a groove worn in it from the oil seal.

You can see from the exploded diagram in the link it's a simple case of removing the prop-shaft, undoing the pinion nut, pulling the drive flange off the pionion shaft then levering the old seal out before fitting the new seal and repeating the disassembly process in the reverse order.

It's a case of stripping it and having a look then ordering the parts required.

Hope this helps.

Mark
