Les Henson
While working on this vehicle today I noticed engine oil was being sucked (or blown) into the inlet manifold. As the engine has on 94,000 miles on the clock, this seems a bit excessive. Does this engine have any known breathing problems? Looks like oil is coming out of the rocker cover gasket too. The top of the engine and down the drivers side it's oily. Any experience or comments please? Les.
BogMonster
Not usually a problem on 300s IMHO. It does look excessive on that though!
jjojjas
my 200tdi with 160,000 looks the same. I clean it once in a while. I *think* its due to worn turbo on mine? Theres an o ring on the driverside rocker cover of the 200 that leaks, I have not worked on a 300 though so I don't know if you have one? white90
Mine did that although that doesn't look too excessive mine was worn bearing housing on the turbo, it made it smoke badly on overrun when descending from 8000mts in the Pyrenees. Turbo was rebuilt, that sorted it,
