simonc
Hi All another technical question i am looking at buying an R380 box for my defender now i know the defender ones have a short input shaft and disco ones have long input shaft. so we all know disco boxes are 10 to a penny so i have worked out the cost of buying a short shaft and it seems i can get a better box for my money from a disco and buy the shaft also, so the question i ask is can i just swap the shafts ???? just so you know i fully qualified techy just know nothing about these boxes so i can do work myself which is why i am contemplating this idea Ohh and i suppose i have to change bellhousing aswell can anyone think of anything else that would need changing ? Appreciate any help on this thanks Simon
western
not sure if it's that easy, may be worth asking Dave or Ian Ashcroft, Dave drops in here not sure if Ian does though, but I'm sure you will recieve top notch advice.
vinny
From memory the exension case, the selector and selector shaft differ between disco and defender
