santalars
I would like to check what year the engine is, as I assume that it is a replacement. Is there any chance to identify the year of production? Thanks
western
Don't think so from a engine number, a phone call to LR's traceability dept at Gaydon might get a result. which engine is fitted ?

western
it should start with 16L then the rest of the numbers is the actual serial number, I don't think there's any way to tell year of build unless you find another component on the engine has something like these stamped or engraved into it. 3Q99 = 3rd Quarter [July to September] 1999 0898 = August 1998 if the alternator is the original item, that may have a month/year of build on it's info label.
