poohbear
The last TD I scrapped came in at a snip over 200Kg - that was without turbo or inlet/exhaust manifold and was dry weight! Dave.

Quagmire
Well two people can *just* about lift a full V8- my dad and I managed to move this engine, a fully dressed P6 lump (and we aren't very fit ). You couldn't do that with one of the diesel lumps...
Chicken Drumstick
The V8 is less because its alloy block, however they are not as light as some sources on the web claim, especially the latter cross bolted blocks. V8's are listed as low as 318lbs (145kg), but I don't know if its dry/wet or dressed, but it is for an early incarnation of the engine. Tdi I can vouch is heavy, it took 4 of use to lift one into a back of a car and I spent a week in the hospital as a result.
Scandi
Today I weighed my TD5 engine on an accurate digital platform scale. It was 244 kgs including flywheel and clutch. 1
