Gilslandy
hi guys!!! first of all well done for this forum!! i have a defender td5 and lately i put the double shock turrets on the front....i bought the turrets from paddock....my problem is that the outer shock is touching with coils! when on road, normal driving it almost touches, then when it starts to flex it touches!!! don t know y!!! if i put the shock the other way round that is the shaft with the axle and the 'case' with the turret...will it work properly?? thanks gil

daveturnbull
Sounds like some quality paddocks parts. Obviously they need to the 'fettled' a bit to move the shocks further away from the springs. But not too far, or the inside of the tyres will rub on them on full lock.
Gilslandy
thought so that it might be a 'damage' from paddock by any chance do the shocks work if i fit them the upside down??? thanks gil
David Wright
Shock absorbers will work in either direction ( either the correct way up or upside down) but of course upside down the outer sleeve will fill with water unless there is a hole in the casing to allow drainage
